Introducing Two-Factor Authentication for MessageBee Security

Stronger security. Same seamless communication.

MessageBee’s mission has always been clear: help libraries connect with patrons in the most reliable, flexible, and effective way possible across phone, email, and SMS. As communication evolves, so do expectations around security. That is why we are introducing optional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for registered users, a powerful new layer of protection designed to keep accounts safe without slowing anything down.

How It Works

When Two-Factor Authentication is enabled, users verify their identity using a second method after entering a password. Admin users can enable Two-Factor Authentication directly within Security settings in just a few clicks.

  1. From the MessageBee dashboard, click on your profile icon, and then ‘manage account’
  2.  From the account menu, navigate to the security tab and choose which method you wish to add two-factor authentication.
  3. You can either add a phone number for SMS authentication, or pair your preferred authenticator app via QR code.

A Platform That Keeps Moving Forward

Two-Factor Authentication is just the latest step in a long line of improvements to keep MessageBee evolving. Ongoing investments include:

  • More reliable delivery across phone, email, and SMS
  • Investment in 10-DLC infrastructure that improves SMS deliverability over obsolete email-to-SMS gateway
  • New reporting and click tracking tools added earlier this year
  • Enhanced compliance and security standards
  • Automated Borrower Tools that simplify the patron registration and renewal process

Libraries need a platform that does more than keep up. They need one that consistently moves forward.

Why MessageBee Stands Apart

MessageBee brings communication together into one unified system built for libraries. With three channels, libraries can tailor their communications to the right audience. Everything is managed in one place, simplifying workflows while increasing impact.

With the addition of Two-Factor Authentication, MessageBee continues to combine powerful communication tools with strong, dependable security.
