Gaston County Public Library (NC) Launches MessageBee from Unique

The 10-location North Carolina system has launched MessageBee SMS and Phone service

Unique Management Services is proud to announce the launch of MessageBee SMS and Phone Notifications for Gaston County Public Library this week. Patrons will begin receiving updates on their library transactions via 10-DLC compliant text message. MessageBee SMS represents an upgrade on legacy SMS notifications, which are being phased out by telecommunication providers.

Similarly, members of Gaston County Public Library will have the option to receive either automated or pre-recorded updates on their library activity via phone. Both SMS and Phone notices are available in English and Spanish.

Situated west of Charlotte, Gaston County is home to nearly 230,000 residents and the library system boasts 10 locations county-wide.

MessageBee is a powerful and customizable messaging tool that offers numerous features, making it an essential asset for libraries looking to enhance their communication strategies with patron-focused communication.

Key features of MessageBee include:

  • Simple set-and-forget: Once integrated, MessageBee automatically sends patrons updates on their library transactions, like holds, pre-due, and overdue notices.
  • Multiple language support: Send phone and SMS notices in either Spanish or English, whatever the patron indicates on their ILS profile.
  • Customization: Libraries can opt to either record their own messages or have an automatically generated text-to-speech notification for their patrons.
