Staff Spotlight: Jeremy Dubish – Senior Analyst, IT Department
We’re excited to highlight Jeremy Dubish, one of the dedicated members of our IT Department. Jeremy has been with us for nearly 20 years, bringing his expertise and passion for problem-solving to the team.
Who is Jeremy?
Originally from Southern California, Jeremy attended college in Missouri before settling in the Louisville, KY area, where he’s lived for the past 20 years. He and his wife recently celebrated 23 years of marriage, and together they have three children, all in high school or college. As a family, they love traveling, with Chicago being a favorite destination. Jeremy even once drove coast to coast across the U.S. – with their chihuahua along for the ride!
When he’s not at work, Jeremy is busy with a unique hobby: building, maintaining, and riding vintage European mopeds from the ’70s and ’80s. Over the past 16 years, he’s built several custom mopeds and connected with enthusiasts from around the world who share his passion.
What does Jeremy do for Unique?
Jeremy works closely with MessageBee libraries and groups to implement and maintain notification systems.
Favorite part of working at Unique?
“The people. I’ve made some good friends here over the years.”
Favorite memory at Unique?
Several years ago, while attending the SWAN Expo in Chicago, Jeremy had a memorable encounter. During a ride from the airport, he struck up a deep philosophical conversation with his Uber driver, who kindly let him charge his phone during the chat. It wasn’t until Jeremy was dropped off that he realized he’d left his phone in the car. Thankfully, the driver returned it about 20 minutes later—earning a generous tip for both the phone return and the engaging conversation!
What’s your favorite thing about libraries?
“I’ve always loved books. My favorite part of libraries is, as simple as it sounds, the books. I mainly read fiction but also enjoy philosophy. Cormac McCarthy is my favorite author.”
