Meet Karen Robinson, our Manager of Administrative Services and a cornerstone of the Unique team. Karen is celebrating an incredible 25 years with Unique as of January 3, 2025. She started as our receptionist and has worn many hats along the way, growing alongside the company and helping shape its culture.
Karen is a Louisville native who grew up in New Albany and now calls Palmyra, IN, home. Life on her quiet 10-acre farm—with goats, chickens, cats, and a dog—keeps her grounded. When she’s not tending animals, you’ll likely find her camping with her husband, kids, and grandkids, enjoying a cruise, or curled up with a book (Freida McFadden is her current favorite author!).
What’s kept Karen at Unique for 25 years? “The family environment,” she says without hesitation. “The owners and management genuinely care about the employees. The coaching and mentoring I’ve had here have helped me grow in so many ways, both personally and professionally. I’ve not only found great co-workers, but lifelong friends.”
Her favorite memories from over the years reflect that warmth and camaraderie: company picnics with water balloon fights (even the owners joined in!), creative department competitions like a “floating head in a fish tank” pumpkin, and even a full-sized “house” built over the Tech department for a Christmas decorating contest.
Libraries also hold a special place in Karen’s heart. She loves that they give readers of all ages a chance to escape into a good book. “My grandkids love going to the library to pick out a new book or join a program,” she says. “It’s something beyond a tablet or a video game—something magical.”
Karen’s dedication, kindness, and sense of fun have made her a beloved part of Unique for 25 years. Here’s to celebrating her remarkable journey and all the ways she’s helped make Unique feel like family.
