Meet Jen Hines, one of Unique’s friendly and knowledgeable E-media and Customer Service Specialists in Library Services! With a rich background in administrative support and customer service, Jen brings both experience and enthusiasm to her role helping library patrons every day.
Outside of work, Jen keeps life full of creativity and curiosity. She occasionally works in theatre and film, and when she’s not performing or behind the scenes, you might find her thrifting for hidden treasures, sipping coffee at a cozy café, or exploring vegan restaurants around her city. She’s also an avid reader, traveler, and—by her own admission—happily “bossed around” by her cats.
When asked about her favorite part of working at Unique, Jen doesn’t hesitate: it’s the people. “My colleagues! Everyone is genuinely helpful and kind. It’s a real team atmosphere,” she says. That sense of collaboration and care shines through in everything she does.
Jen’s favorite Unique memory comes from one of her regular callers—a curious mind who often asks fascinating quick-reference questions about astronomy, biology, and ancient civilizations. “They are a pleasure to talk to, and I end our conversations so much smarter,” she laughs.
As someone who clearly loves learning, it’s no surprise that Jen’s favorite thing about libraries is their power to spark curiosity and connection. “Besides access to so many books and movies? I love that libraries nurture curiosity and community!”
