PPLCS starts Material Recovery, joins Unique Management’s growing family of libraries served.
Unique Management Services has implemented and began our industry-leading Material Recovery service with Panhandle Public Library Cooperative System this week. The service will work to reduce the amount of outstanding overdue materials, while courteously reminding patrons of their commitment to their library. This collaboration comes after Panhandle recognized the need for an effective system to ensure the return of materials.
Historically operating with an internal process, PPLCS determined that partnering with Unique Management and their Material Recovery service would enable them to keep more of their valuable assets in circulation, which in turn better serves their patrons. The 9-branch, three county system in northwest Florida operates with the KOHA ILS, a software that integrates well with Unique’s own proprietary process. This collaboration marks the beginning of a relationship between the Florida consortium and Unique.
Unique’s Gentle Nudge™ Material Recovery process works by reminding patrons of their commitment to the library and is proven to keep more materials in circulation. It represents an investment by PPLCS in their materials, and commitment to their patrons to keeping materials available to the entire patron base.
