Staff Spotlight: Andy Harp

Meet Andy Harp, the Director of Customer Service at Unique Library and the backbone of what has become one of the most highly regarded customer service departments in the library industry. Over his 20-year tenure, Andy has been instrumental in shaping Unique’s “Library First” approach, ensuring that our solutions are tailored exclusively to the needs of libraries and their communities.

Andy’s dedication to libraries is rooted in his passion for helping them connect with their patrons. Whether it’s through material recovery or innovative tools like MessageBee notifications, Andy finds great fulfillment in witnessing how Unique’s products make a difference.

Originally from Sacramento, California, Andy’s journey has been far from stationary. He has lived in six different states and even spent three memorable years in Mons, Belgium. His diverse experiences bring a special perspective to his role at Unique.

Outside of work, Andy treasures time with his family. Married for 35 years, he and his wife are proud parents of four children, ranging in age from 17 to 31. When he’s not overseeing customer service operations, you might find him traveling, mountain biking, reading, or playing games.

Andy’s most cherished professional memory is celebrating the company’s remarkable milestone of surpassing one billion dollars in asset recovery—a testament to the impact Unique has on libraries nationwide.

When visiting libraries, Andy finds inspiration in the innovative programs they offer to enrich their communities. Whether it’s a unique workshop, a children’s event, or a local initiative, he values the opportunity to see the heart of what makes each library special.

Thank you, Andy, for two decades of leadership, dedication, and passion for supporting libraries and the communities they serve!
