Frequently Asked Questions
How Often Does Unique Offer This?
Unique sends postcards quarterly: March, June, September, and December. If you’re interested, get in touch as deadlines are approximately 3 weeks before the mailing dates.
Who is New Mover for?
New mover is for libraries that want to get in front of new residents of the library service area. Patrons will get a high-gloss postcard in their mailbox, helping your library stand out. No library is too small, and pricing scales with number of postcards sent.
How complicated is it?
It’s simple to send a postcard to potential new patrons in your area. After getting in touch, we will take you step by step through the design process, followed by gathering the zip code or shape file information for your library’s service area. After that, we send the postcards on your behalf!

How New Mover Service works

What else does the library get with the service?
With each run, we share a full list of the new addresses we have acquired, along with an interactive map that you can use to see where each of these new movers are. Some libraries have taken these lists and compared them to new card signups to see how it worked.

This report is for demonstration purposes only. Points on this map are randomized and do not represent any actual resident or address.
How else can I use this service?
Some libraries have offered coupons for in-library cafes, highlighted specific services they offer, created multi-lingual postcards, and let patrons in a new service area know about a new branch opening. There’s lots of great ways to use this tool!
New Branch Opening Postcard
Vigo County Public Library in Indiana let residents in the 12 Points neighborhood know that a new branch was opening up near them with this colorful postcard.
Cafe & Bookstore Coupon Postcard
Olathe Public Library in Kansas included a coupon for both their in-library cafe and Friends of the Library bookstore in their postcard.
Multilingual Postcard
Bensenville Community Library in the Chicago area not only included Spanish, but also Polish alongside English to appeal to the local community, along with advertising a gift along with new library card membership.
